Greetings fellow forum members, 18 June I went out on my weekly trek around the area, I took HWY 1806 from Pierre to Lower Brule Reservation. 5 miles out from the reservation, A grey chevy malibu come across the centerline directly at me, I think the driver fell asleep, but I never did find out because I tried getting out of his path I was some how bucked off the bike, not sure if he hit my right side or the bike jackknifed I finally stopped in a ditch, got my bearings crawled out and not a soul around. minutes later a couple guys stopped after they saw the bike, and shortly after a BIA cop stopped and did a very fine job from where I laid. I was unable to walk so the EMS was activated took me to Chamberlain, where it was discovered that I had a fractured right and sprained left roadrash and a little chip out of the elbow. Wife and kids come to get me and the youngest throwup on site. And the first thing out of her mouth was No more bike echoed by my little girls. I get home and luckily a few friends were told and was there when I got in, as I needed to be carried in. So, Monday I head in to see the ortho doc, turns out the left is worse off than the right its also fractured. So I am down wheelchair bound for a month or so more. Not sure what is going on with the bike, other than the insurance companies salvage company has it (state farm). Not sure how to feel other than lucky and sorry for what I put the family though. So if the bike can't be repaired, option 1 67 chevelle option 2 factory five roadster aka family mans motorcycle. All depends on the insurance company. Any advice would be appreciated. :flag: Helmet and leathers worn
