What it is Jonathan is thier backyard sloped off and they wanted to use that space so I built the walls to support the fill to level out the yard, the lower section is the patio elevation and the higher walls are seat walls to sit on when your out there, so after I remove the forms then I will backfill it and pour a 1000 sq ft patio it that area, hope that explians it well enough, I am still half asleep!

Ok, I understand now. Very cool, very impressive! I have a concrete question for you since you are the concrete Guru on the site. We talked about my RV garage slab the other day. How difficult is it to stain? I really think that would look better than Epoxy. I did the card board trick and it looks like it's almost ready. Been 5 weeks. I'm still going to give it 3 more before I stain. Went to the local commercial paint store and for the materials to do a caramel brown stain on a 20'x40' slab they quoted $575.00. Stopped at Home Depot and it's like $95.00 and looks like you painted it from there brochure . I have learned you get what you pay for in life! Anyway, have been watching YouTube videos on staining. Am I correct. After you stain it you seal it and can then put a clear epoxy over it for depth and protection.

Jonathan, when I stain anything I get my materials from a supplier here in Sacramento called "Spec West", here is there web addy, Home | Spec-West, so back to your question, first I would recommed using an "acid stain" you will get the best look from that type of stain, the crap from Home Depot is shit, don't use it! Anyway, get a high quality acid stain, I use "Brickform" produts but there are alot of others out there, what you need to do is follow the instructions for that product, if you don't and there is a problem then you are screwed, it's vary's a little but they are all basically the same, get a high quality pump up spray can, "not anything from home depot" mix the staim as per mfg instructions and apply in an even coat trying not to get any puddling if possible, let it dry however long they say and then you need to "neutralize" the acid, you can get the neutralizer from your supplier, after your done let dry and apply your sealer or epoxy clear coat and your done. Keep in mind that when you apply your stain it darkens as it drys so don't over do it on the first application, take your time and do it in stages untill it's the desired color, also your sealer will darken it up a little too, hopr that helps!

Actually no I have not, but you should be able to as long as you neutralize the acid, I have seen it in commercial buildings and in Las Vegas at the MGM Grand, it looks bad ass! Before you do it though, check with your supplier and read the info on whatever product you use.:2thumbs:

Going back to my regular job tomorrow:2thumbs: I am a Superintendant for a Bridge Contractor, and I agree, it's a young mans job, I just did it since it's a friend of ours and they basically begged me to do it!
