Not only is the type of material involved so is the heat-treating process.

And it seems no one understands how that is supposed to work. So much 'new process' crap is out there. Lets save a dime, charge more and give em junk they will have to buy again. Heat treat is a lost art.

It's an Art that requires Mechanical and Chemical testing and the correct process type of heat treating. I doubt that tool companies do a lot of testing.
