Guys need some opinions,

I have a Limited Edition 2008 Big Dog Mastiff, I was thinking this winter of having Ghost Flames put on it, maybe a dark red metallic.

Do you guy think it would hurt the value of the limited edition or not, I know that from the factory, Big Dog gave that option..

I don't think it would hurt the value. The value has already taken a beating. Only way they could lose anymore value is if its been slid down the steet :D Some ghost flames would make it even more Limited

First, I think you should do what you like.

Second as far as resale, I think it wont hurt the value necisarily, but the more its personalized, you will limit the market to a degree. (not every one wants purple skulls for example).

Third, IMHO, I think you have the coolest bike in the world! (notice mine)

Are you only concerned since your bike is a limited edition? If so, how much additional re-sale value is added since your bike is limited edition? If its worth (what you could sell it for) $5000 more, then I would not change it at all. If its worth almost nothing more than a standard Mastiff then I wouldn't hesitate to customize it. I would think the quality of the painter's work would be the determining factor if re-sale is affected or not.

No your right, I think, with the right buyer, it may be worth $1 to $2 grand more,,, Maybe? Thanks for the input... :flag:

Typically in a collectors market everything original is more valuable. If you don't plan on selling but enjoying your bike I would go for it.

Plus, These bike were not numbered like the K-9 limited editions. I have seen some in blue and also one in yellow.
