Light throttle surging question.

I just bought a 2008 Ridgeback. Has a spike air cleaner and a set of Mean Mothers on it. Super G too. Runs great overall. I have only one issue, just at lower speeds at light load, about 2000 rpm, 2nd or 3 gear,(high vacuum) mode, the engine lean misses and sputters a bit. If I reach down and fatten the idle mixture screw, it gets better. My plugs look good and my idle mixture screw is right at 1-1/4, where it idles the smoothest. I do run it out 1/4 more, to lesson the popping on decal and lesson the surging.
I assume my jets are okay based on the mixture screw settings, plug color and how strong it runs when you crank on it.
Would the air bleed jet be my target? or up the low speed jet a bit?
Thoughts?
Thanks, Kurt

Air bleed = My job is to atomize fuel up the tube. I have a hole at the air cleaner side. This is my entry point. What would happen if I sized that hole down I cut a plastic straw down the middle, shove it all the way in without collapsing the inside end so there is no flow.
a. I just made a quick and dirty experiment as to run less air and still try to break up the gas coming out as a stream but a bubble in between. See it?
b. I can cut more straw and sort of gap the straw so it curls up and touches the other side of the cut, not spiral like on entry. So the more extreme I make it, I made a change I can feel.
c. I either get better, worse, or no change.

Low speed jet = This more or less is the idle/low/up to mid> jet: think. That is my job. I run in a linear way is linear up the ladder. I still have a lot of gas behind me to remain idling and in the linear going up and coming down.
a. I want you to hold your hand, insert penis, you sagging hot nut sack in the intake side of the carb.
b. I need someone to prove to me that the main does not draw out at idle, call the linear.
c. I think you are on the right path, but if I may make a suggestion.

Needle jet: My job is to control the linear from start to wide open throttle and I mix with the low on the way up to mid range. My needle's taper sends out more gas while your nuts were in the way.
a. I think you missed a move. Since it's my own experience that when that assembler's hair, eyelash, something looking like a tiny hair, was caught in the main jet, the bike would not start, was hard to start and keep running/idling.
b. I believe if you could drop the C-clip which raises the needle out of the main jet, this might be more of the first try, rather than buying air jets, and loophole that hole for the needle rise.
c. I will assume this can be done. If say the needle is fixed but can be removed, I would find a washer and begin to stack them one at a time as I try to find my best low idle like you have been doing, then the test ride. Do no other touching but to stack another washer till something changes under your sore nuts.... Tell me you didn't do what turtle says?

Make sure the air bleed vent plug is removed when not running stock air filter.
Also, spray intake manifold seals with brake/parts cleaner while motor is running, checking for a potential intake leak.

I took the bowl off to see what jets I had. Low 295, High 74. I put in a 33 mid jet and left the high 74 jet alone. Seems to have fixed it. I read Mean Mothers wanted 31/78. I am happy!! Runs great till I get the itch to try a 76 or 78 high jet. The bike came from Salt Lake and assume the jetting 29.5/74 stock setup was okay for 4000 feet higher?

Well, I had the itch and put in a 78 high jet. WOW, did that wake this thing up.
I can't stop smiling as I twist the throttle!!! Complete new bike. I assume the prior owner in Salt Lake had to run 29.5/74 because of the 4000 above sea level.
