Lifting the mastiff with a sears red jack

My sears red jack has served me well over the years but I have a concern lifting my new mastiff. Due to the rear mounted kick stand, does the bike when lowered want to return to a normal resting position or is a second person needed to assure it wont fall.

That jack will work fine, I have the Harbor Freight one that is the same thing. On mine I have to get it the tires up on some wood as it doesn't sit low enough. Which actually works out great when lowering since its well balanced and stays up right without leaning the kickstand.

Anyways when I am lowering it I always have the seat off soo I get a firm grip on the frame and another on the handlebars and bring it down. Just makes me feel more comfortable when lowering it incase it goes down faster than I had hoped.

I use the Sears yellow aluminum jack. Never an issue. I can unlock it, lower it down on its own then steady the bike upright by the handlebar and pull the jack out with the kick stand of course and lean it back over on the kickstand.
Seeing how I lowered the bike some by adjusting the shocks my clearance underneath is much tighter between the frame and jack and I have to rock the bike some to get the jack out. When the shocks were in the middle position everything slid right under and back out. I just preferred having the tire sit closer to the fender so I lowered them.

I made a platform out of a sheet of 3/4 inch plywood with a cutout for the jack so I have enough clearance to get the jack under the frame.
