Well the time is near to get some tires and I wanted to hear from you guys what brand rear tire do you like and why. I like the look of the Metzeler myself over the cobra but I also want a tire that corners well.
Lets talk 300 tires...Metzeler, Avon , etc.

I've always had Avon, 1st the Venom now Cobra very happy with both except for the fact they both love to pick up screws & nails :bang: :bang: :bang: :bang:

I just installed a Cobra on mine yesterday, got an amazing 8000 miles out of the Venom. It might have been the lower pressure I kept in it for a little better ride when my wife rides with me. I don't notice any difference in ride and other than the tread design being a little different or should I say at least now I have tread, it feels the same.:lol:

from what i have gleaned from other posts, it seems the metzlers are a softer compound giving better grip but short lifespan. also, they tend to be a little wider than an avon of the same size sometimes getting into the drive belt causing the need to trim some of the sidewall to create clearance for the belt. not what i would want to do, causing the voiding of the warranty.

The Metzlers are just not a good tire for our BDs. I know there are a few here that will disagree but I have run two sets on my K9 with very poor performance from both sets. Thats not to say Metzler doesn't put out a good product just not a good product for our BDs. I tried the first set and gave in on the 2nd set because I needed a tire immediately. I will not run anything but Avons on my K9 from now on.
