:2thumbs:After talking to someone who should be "In the know" about BDM, I was told that they will be back open and making new bikes sometime in 2012 after restructuring the company. Has anyone else heard anything like this? It could be total BS, But as he told it to me it made alot of sence.:2thumbs:

I wouldn't hold your breath if I were you. Until the economy returns, all we might hope to get is for them to be in a position to be able to build again. They should focus on core survival of the overall product and expand when the time becomes right. Long Live BDM!

If the bank does not recup all there losses from selling off anything left they will more than likely sue the corporate owners personally which would probably put an end to a new start. Banks SUCK

As long as we're just blowing smoke, if they were to try and make a come back, their research and development crew should listen to what the people (all you guys) want. All the problems that are way too common, need to be rectified. Get rid of the EHC and sell one that works in the long run.

And they should study this web-site to see what riders want. The survey showed the K-9 as being the most popular. Just start with that, or the K-9 and the Mastiff. Don't try to get to big (pun) right from the get-go.

What I'm trying to say is next time, if there is a next time, they should first open up a dialog with the Big Dog Biker Forum. Then take that advise to heart before they proceed.

I do wish for a next time somewhere in the future.

Guarantee that BDM reads every word of this forum.

People just stopped buying choppers from most everybody.

Financing dried up, and their biggest customers, contractors, found their income cut severly.

Most of the Big Dog buyers turned to cheaper used choppers (Lots of good deals out there) or switched over to Harleys.

I have no inside information but I believe the option is there with the parts business... I mean they have just about everything they need to make bikes again.

And then there is the European market they are expanding too... I wouldn't be surprised to see new bikes in the next few years, when the economy gets better for luxury items.

I think if they stay small, flexible and move away from proprietary parts, I think they will be better off.

But who knows!!!
