leinweber cam?

Has anybody had any dealing with this product? Leinweber 603 cam for our 177s? vs the woods (possibly the w6hf) cam?
I believe the leinwebers are even noisier than the woods.... any thoughts?
Im running a s&s 600 right now with head work by John, heavier springs,.... no decking or anything yet.......
Just getting a feel for what way people have went or tried and got best results with..

Are you not happy with the 600? According to John, the woods cams can beat our valve train to death. At least I think he mentioned something like that at one time. But he's the pro, I'll let him clarify. Don't know about the Leinweber, haven't much about it mentioned here, in fact haven't heard anything mentioned about it on here...

I just was wondering about these cams. Knowledge is always good from others smarter than I
If this is true regarding the roughness is it due to the squared lobes/ ie: square power curve? Was under the impression that they pull like a mother all the way through the rpm range....
I dont have a problem with the 600... u know how it is, after a while you get used to something and look for new or more!

Where did you get the 177 . Never heard of Leinwebers, might be good who knows.

I have used the Woods W6HF, W188-1200-10-L Springs since September 2008. When I went to that cam I also had heads done by Larry's Motorcycle and Machine, Inc. Oak Lawn, Ill. (Ported, Polished, 2:02 intake Valves, 1:60 Exhaust, decked 0.030). I used a 0.010 base gasket and 0.030 head gasket by comatic which gave me 0.023 gain over the stock gaskets instead of decking the cylinders. It basically gave me a 10:5 to 1 compression which is what I was looking for to be able to run 93 Octane pump gas. I also used the Jims Hydrosolid Lifers and fueling cylinder studs. Noisy, what noise I use the 3D Sinful FSD Pipes. I can't hear shit anyway so It doesn't bother me. My Harley makes noise with the Andrews 57H cam, so if you want a silent valve train better stick to the stock configuration, and that makes noise too.

IMO, most of the Leinweber cams I've heard, are noisy, and hard on the valve train.
If you want a real heavy hitter, put more compression in the motor (11.5:1), and use a S&S .640 cam. You'll lose low end torque, but it will run like a scalded dog from 4,500 rpm and up.
The S&S 600 cam is still the best all around chopper cam with headwork, absolutely NO PMS..... It hits relatively early, gentle on the valve train, and carries out upstairs.
