I installed WP about a month ago, had no issues at all but my buddy noticed the other night that my LF Rear Directional has the break light stuck on. I went back and looked at all my connections and everything appears to be correct. I checked all the lights and directionals after my install and they all worked correctly, I tried to do a search and wasn't able to find any previous issues with that, perhaps I didnt search correctly. Any suggestions or experience with an issue like this so I can resolve this and get the bike inspected?

Thanks!

What Gary said...you positive it was working before?

Three wires involved, ground, running light and brake/blink. Never looked at an 04 but my 05 has a little plug that I can disconnect for each tail light.. If you have the same I suggest using that and testing the light. Make up some small wires to test and hook up ground then test each circuit. If connecting the running light wire activates the brake as well you know your problems in the light itself. If it works, move up the chain. Worst case would be the WP unit itself is doing it but I haven't heard of that happening.

happened to me one month ago. But both my directionals were staying on. the magnet was off center on the hand control - probably hit a bump. don't know about yours since its only one

So the directional light is on all the time? Are you sure it was working before?
Yes, absolutely positive it was working correctly after the install. After riding more on sat, the directional would go off sometimes totally and other time go back to "normal" but the break light wouldn't go on. Very confusing and difficult to diagnose. I failed to mention it's an 04...

I did have a situation where I got on it hard and all the lights when out, but once I turned the bike off and back on. Everything came back on. Not sure if when they came back on was when the light started sticking (bc I cant see it lol)

I failed to mention...

I did have a situation where I got on it hard and all the lights when out, but once I turned the bike off and back on.
Vibration:

1. My lights say on then go off but that would turn my lights off if hot would be this side loose.
2. I did have a situation that when the rpm got up there it did vibrate one of my fillings out, the light fandango was going out, but once I left that variable of a loose wire is maybe it's a hot wire again with sparks and powder around some hot wire?
3. Maybe it's a ground wire and I should take as much off to see the whole wire harness; turn off the light fandango in the garage; take out the fuses so the lights are out or keep one light in; tape over it; take out the other bulbs and leave the fuse in watt for? I want to see sparks come off the harness in the dark fuse or no fuse is the main ground, right?; I want to make some harness, a connector, a single wire move in my hands from front to back; and have another set of eyes watching for spark in the dark garage so someone yells in my ear-it-IS!

There have been a few of us that had brake light issues with the WP control module.

You may want to call and discuss with them. They replaced mine since it was the second one for 1/2 price.
