My bike is leaking oil very slowly from the primary cover .... It's seeping out from behind that little plate that says big dog.... I haven't removed that plate so I don't know what's behind it.

I know there was a Service Bulletin for a leaking inspection cover. Actually waiting on mine to get replaced . Not sure if it applies to your yr/make. I wanna say it was for 2006-2008 but not 100% sure.

Set the bike level and pull the inspection cover. Bike want leak oil when level. Some had gaskets, some had a o ring style gaskets. might be able to clean it up and put a dab of silicone on it and ride

Remember if you put it back as good as it was or better than it was it won't be any worse :2thumbs:

What's behind there is the Rivera clutch assembly. Sounds like you might need to replace the o-ring behind the cover. Get yourself a new one at your dealer and put your bike level. Take the cover off and wipe the entire area off with a clean rag. Put your new o-ring where you took the old one out. If it won't stay put try putting just a little grease on the o-ring to help keep it there until you get the cover on. Torque to spec and you should be good.

6 month moratorium

Latest from our nation's capital is that Pres. Obama is issueing a 6 month moratorium on all Big Dog owners/riders until the oil leak problem can be resolved safely and be assured that something like this never happens again on his watch. Heaven knows that we do not need anymore oil leaks here in Louisiana.

Sorry Bryan, had to poke fun at this. I am sure the tech guys here are going to get you going again shortly. Plenty of good responses already.

That torque manual says 7 - 9 ft lbs. I might go less than that. Be very careful with the bottom right corner bolt. It will break the corner off the inspection cover. Start low ft lbs and gradually work up the torque. The 05' did have a recall.

CurtK, you crack me up!
