My one front is leaking, somehow I'm getting drops of fluid on the top cover while riding.......anyways, BD performance carries the rebuild kits, includes cover gasket, ft and rear same price 67.00, unfortunately you have to buy the entire kit.

Oops just noticed yours was an 03, I "think" the kit is for 2005 and above, you may want to check.

Cut out a thin piece of plastic the size and shape of the boot. Place it on top of the boot and under the cover. That might be enough to seal it. I think the problem is the machined surfaces give too much clearance to expand the boot when you bolt it down

Yeah Rick thats the problem 04 and under not much available from BDM thanks anyway I think standard 3/4" bore rebuild kit from Performance Machine will work. I will get in contact with them make sure.

What I was saying is the boot probably isnt bad. Check for cracks. If its not cracked or dry rotted. Put a tiny/thin shim above the boot. When you bolt the cover down it will put extra pressure on the boot to seal better. Even a thin piece of cardboard would work since no fluid would touch it.

My fluid appears to be coming from the hole where the mirror arm goes through, thinking that where the arm pivots it must be open to the plunger and seal.....or is it possible fluid could be coming from the vent hole in the cover and running down into the mirror arm hole with the bike just sitting, M/CYL level with fluid level well below the top? I just ordered a rebuild kit.

Has anyone ever had this problem, I searched the forum and couldn't find anything concerning fluid leaking from this area.

Ray,

If your note was meant for me, I'm sorry but I'm not getting the connection between Thunderheart and brake related issues....I thought Thunderheart dealt with ignition parts etc....pls clarify.

mine had a leak in the same place. had checked and thought it was low, added fluid and apparently overfilled. took some back out several times by inserting tip of paper towel into fluid. finally got it to almost quit leaking. still need to do it again, i think. we will see.
