Maybe just a fluke???
I don't see any economy reasons (yet) that would cause dumping the dogs!
I own a software company now for the last 30 years. I have an employment testing system where companies worldwide use it to hire new employees. You THINK the Economy is good?????????????
Bought mine from my best bud and that's exactly how he was. He bought it brand new, put a $5K paint job on it, and sold it to me for about 25 cents on the dollar. I have spent 100's of hours working on it, which I like almost as much as riding it.Could be the about 90% of BDM owners don't know how to wrench and are always to pay just to have a battery changed.
Carlos,Or maybe they sell because they need the money, new wife or new house or new baby or new girlfriend, all that cost money and the economy sucks which doesn't help at all.

Funny how people sell bikes at the end of the season...I'd sell mine beginning of the season for more $....I never thought I could afford one either and was looking for years. Bought mine in March.....got a great deal on it...my daughter bought a bike as well in mid-winter, got a great deal.....as other's have stated, I think it's people who don't ride a lot, don't work on them, let them sit and then there's more work on them cuz they don't ride em and they 'dry' up.....sad, or their wives are like, you don't ride it - get rid of it....I want a new blah blah blah........I LOVE THESE BIKES!Always more bikes for sale toward the end of the season, guys who realize they didn't ride much through the season. I have definatelly seen some of the lowest prices on Big Dogs ever, don't know if its because parts are harder to find or the guys who rarely ride are just tired of them collecting dust. In any case it worked out for me as I always dreamed of owning one but never thought I would afford one, till I found mine for a song. Guy just bought a big boat and didn't ride the dog anymore, right time, right place!! But I'm a happy man!!!!!
.Could be the about 90% of BDM owners don't know how to wrench and are always to pay just to have a battery changed. As many questions as are asked here it appears very few ever try to figure things out on there own.
I like to help everyone, but sometimes a little initiative can go a long way, like doing a search to find out what other have done to resolve a similar issue.

2X. When I bought my bike a 2004 (10 years old) it had 2 owners and 4k on it. That means an average of 33 miles a MONTH. Heck, I put that on just testing a new part out. I think a lot of these guys bought one to look "cool" and got tired of it and went back to riding their Road Kings or rice rockets or you have the wanna be biker lawyer/Dr types who find out they aren't bikers. I'm getting ready to do a 200 + mile ride today "probably in the rain).
:iagree:
I think you nailed it ...don't know about the 90 %. but probably close
But I bought mine from a guy who put 400 miles in seven years on it .
He spent a lot on batteries, starters, etc.
I Have gone through the bike , and have ridden it over 1500 miles troublefree since may.
(would have been more , but I own several bikes).
.......I just rode 400 miles today........

There's another ride next Sunday, if it's decent out I'm going to go on it too. The local hog chapter is very active, they always put together nice rides.Damn, I'm jealous!!!!! In a good way tho! Glad you are enjoying the new dog!![]()
