Last build day before surgery

So I had shoulder surgery again a few weeks ago. Knowing I wouldn't be able to turn a wrench for a good 6 months I decided to take a few days off work to get one good push in on my current build. A friend of mine brought her camera by on the night before my surgery and took some pretty cool photos of the garage. Thought you guys might dig it.

Well I had another post-opp review with my doc the other day. The shoulder is 10x what it was before the surgery (it used to fall out of socket on a daily basis). I don't know any other way to describe it other than it feels "right" now.

Unfortunately I won't be making a full recovery from this. The damage was too great, and my repair too delicate to risk trying to get my full range of motion back. So I might get up to 90-95% of a "normal" range of motion over time, but my doc says it will never feel like it did before the original injury. My right arm, by comparison, has about 130% range (and no that's not necessarily a good thing).

In either case, I was able to make some progress on my build despite being immobile. I met up with a guy who builds bikes in his barber shop down the street from my house (yes, i'm serious). He offered to stop in and help me out around the house and be my "hands" on the build. Even traded me a perfect tank for a couple of misc parts I had laying around. Long story short, the bike is almost done, I just have to mount the fender, weld up the oil tank and fab some bars and controls and this scoot is ready for paint.

thanks man. I started building this thing 3 years ago and it's been setback after setback. Built 2 other bikes since I've started this and had 3 major surgeries.

Back when I was still collecting parts I had to carry them in a backpack on a train from Chicago to Indiana (I don't own a car). I literally put this together "oooone...piece at a time." :D

So yeah I'm really anxious to get this riding.
