Kuryakyn Grand Roll Bag

I am looking for a roll bag that's not too obtrusive and doesn’t look like I am carrying a 50 gal drum. Need something with a little more storage than the small frame/fork tool rolls. Anyone had experience with this particular bag and mounting it to the handlebars? Until I get some disposable income to purchase a pricey:eek: sissy bar/luggage rack need to come up with a cheaper plan for day trips. And no I am not going to wear a back pack. Thanks for the feedback.

That's exactly what that will do. Don't put any roll bag on top of the headlight. The straps also scuff the trees up really bad as well.

Get yourself some 1 1/2 " frame brackets like used for cable standoffs. Put one on each of the down tubes and hang your roll bag off them. Just make sure the bag doesn't rub against the downtube or it will get scuffed.

Well certainly don't want to scuff anything up. Any pics of the setup you are describing? Might just save for the sissy bar :D

I have one and use it all the time! What ya need to do is take the fuzzy soft wrap off of a couple sets of soft tie downs and put then on the straps on the roll. Thiss will keep them from scuffing up your trees and forks. Then take a pice of the same stuff and super glue it onto the bottom of the roll where it will come in contact with your headlight. There ya have it... great roll bag with no adverse affects on your bling! It also is great to have up there as it breaks up the wind pretty good too! I bought a brand new Ridgeback in Sturgis this year and strapped mine on it without batting an eye. 2000 miles later after I got home ... not a mark anywhere! hope this helps!

I bungee my bag between the bottom of the bars and the top of the trees all the time. I also wrap my bag in a cotton sweat shirt to keep it from scuffing. The only problem with strapping things to the down tubes, (especially large things like a bag) is that you limit air flow, might cause a problem in hot weather. Just say'in

I wouldn't put anything on my headlight or bars that might scratch the chrome.
I bought the Kuryaken Tombstone bag last year and love it...works great for my travel needs and provides good backrest too.
Here's a couple pics of it on my bike:

I have a tool bag on the middle of the down tubes. I used 3m clear protective tape for the downtubes so the bag will not rub the downtubes. Tape is invisable works for me.

I have a KURYAKYN roll bag. It has not messed up the chrome on my head light or my tripple trees. Maybe I am just lucky. I jammed enough gear in my bag for a 7 day road trip last year.

I have a very similar one though I think it is a T Bag and it is leather. The first time I used it, it did scratch the headlight bucket and triple. Polished them up and after that use some protection between contact points and have had no further issue.

THey work good if you protect the contacts and you can get allot in them for the road and they do provide a little protection from wind and rain.
