This is how u keep a new or old kickstand from over extending

Are you referring to the little shim at the top of the kickstand that goes inside the slot on the hinge ?

Did you make it or are they available somewhere ?

Yes the shim. I made it, u can use anything, piece of metal I used is bout 1/16 thick. Actually it was an old 3 inch cabinet hinge I cut a strip out of

Oh and btw that’s dust on the stand not corrosion! Extended stand and love it

Received and installed the new stand today. Curtis was out of them, but put together an extended stand with the factory mount and shipped in in time for me to get it today.

Length is as reported by LHS - nearly 2" longer than my old one, and perfect. Lean angle is just right.

But it extends past the slot exactly like the old one. Curtis said they all do the same thing. Anybody else fab a shim like Reddick's ?

Does anybody's kickstand really stay in the slot ?

Got the same from Curtis last week and installed and to your point it does extend past the slot as your photo shows. That being said, I am very happy with having it a bit more upright!

It does not fall out when you fold it up?

it's folded down on each end and there is not enough space for it to move that much.
I used one for a while on one of my old kickstands before I went to the 1" extended which I like much better overall.
