First -- RFID is insecure technology.
Second -- Think about this, you go to bike night. Park, you wonder around, every time you get near you're bike, it powers up (lights, ready to start)
Do you really want it powering up psuedo-randomly just caused you walked by or back to get something from bag -- I know I don't.
Are you really that lazy?
Still need a wheel lock to stop it rolling away, let's face it people ignore alarms.
An effective alarm, it is required to notify owner when it goes off aside from siren etc.
And given the trouble many have had with electrical issues on Big Dog -- do you really want another hi-tech gadget.

This needs a little work. I wouldn't want my bike to power up any time I'm within 10'.
There doesn't seem to be any way to turn it off.
What do you do when you're working on it? I suppose you could put a shut-off switch on it, but that's just more to go wrong.

It was posted on another forum. I was just curious if anybody ever used it. Me personally, no i want simple. Was on a ride this weekend and guys HD would not start because his keyfob battery is too low.

I don't even have a key on my bike anymore, got tired of strange issues that I finally traced back to the factory key switch, so I took it out. I posted a write up in the how to section. 'Hot wiring' these bikes could be done in seconds with a pocketknife. Frankly, if someone wants your bike--they're going to take it. Too easy to do. I have a $50 comprehensive deductible and archived video of my bikes so I can prove exactly what condition they were in etc. in the event of a total loss.
