Key Switch!

After fighting starting and battery issues for bout five years.... ready to drop dollars on a new EHC.......
Key witch was always loose and acting funky.
Swapped it out tonight and ....Boom, fired right up!
Pray for me tomorrow!

Yeah if you're key switch was acting funny it would keep shutting power off to the EHC. Not a good thing. I have replaced my key switch also.

Send ur EHC to Curtis for testing. He stocks a great replacement if its toast.

I definitely needed the key switch though.

My switch became loose and I couldn't start my bike. I wired around it and used a switch (no key needed). Eventually had a marine key switch installed. Been trouble free for over 10 years.

I went out later and it fired right up, I'll play around tomorrow and see if anything looks wacky.

I have seen quite a bit on these threads about key switch. is there a better one out there that looks like it should be there? LOL i have put a lanyard on mine but when you turn it doesn't feel like it clicks in solid. would that be a good indication that i should be thinking of replacing it and is the newer 5T one big dog has any better?

There’s an old thread about this where I found several options. The coolest one was a push button which did away with the key.

I put in the new one from Big Dog. Plug and play.

This wire connector and a plug are tucked in the corner...... anyone know what they might be before I start taking things apart.

!2.9 on a new Deka with good connections.....Just getting a click now after the start button.
Maybe the connection on the starter? she cranked right up last night.

I'm gonna pop off the cover and check some connections

Oh it gets better...Now not getting power to the starter..... I was hearing the compression releases click!

Sounds like a bad ehc to me but I could be wrong. Send it to Curtis

Mors than likely Snuffy.....power through the breaker to the solenoid.
