anybody used Kendall Johnson for electrical rewiring
I gotta get rid of this Electrical nightmare with big dog
there are too many complaints on the forum for electrical problems for me to consistently wonder when the bike will light up like a Christmas tree and leave me stranded or behind on a big bike run! I want to replace EHC and all electrical with a system that works with no/little issues, this is the road I'm going for so don't change the mind! I want to play the game correctly (and spend more$$$) and do it right cuz big dog didn't that's my opinion,
you guys consistently troubleshooting and chasing a ground wire chasing a EHC and defending it I think is bogus you gotta get on board and find a process that works and replace it,
the forum is great and I really missed it when it was down last week because I was searching and needing information for electrical problems electrical problems electrical problems electrical problems
Now I'm spending more money than the bikes worth, wtf ¡!!!!!!

i don't remember anyone talking about having Kendall rewire their skoot. he is fantastic with building motors, and with his shop being in business as long as it has been, he must be doing something right. if that is the route you wish to take, go for it. but keep us in mind with what you find out. never can tell, there's a bunch of us on this coast and if he gets it right, he may end up with a lot of business out of the deal. :2thumbs:

Just remember that even with going old skool broken VR will still boils your battery and doesn't remove the possibility of bad ground or broken wire grounding electronics. Please keep us posted how the project goes and how much it actually costs...

Sounds like you need to sell the bike and get the cost of wiring back in you pocket before you go broke. Why come on here if you don't want help, your mind is already made up. Good Luck

Thanks Tapio The VR went In this weekend. Me sitting on my ass this weekend looking at my bike after I spent $13,500.00 for it was depressing and embarrassing. I wish I could fix it, I wanted to do it myself... :bang:
New tires750 new clutch basket450.00, now a $2000.00 bill
We will see how it turns out, I'm hoping for the best

Not all Big Dogs have electrical problems. One of my K9s has over 70,000 miles on it ridden in countless rain storms and never an electrical problem.

Thanks guys :lol: I feel his frustration. It's not fun breaking down on the side of the road or worrying about getting there or back home after spending all that cash on a bike and he's right. Most of the help me threads are electronic problems that should never happen on a very expensive custom bike.

Scooters cycle in Fl sells a rewire kit that has all the wires marked and all the parts you need to rewire old school for $199. The controls and bars will be around another $400 and should take you about 10 hrs to do yourself. He is a lot like Curtis and will take your questions and provide help after the sale. This is the kit I bought for my bike and it took me about 8 hrs to rewire and I really took my time with a lot of beer breaks. You will wind up with 1 relay, your stock ign switch and 3 breakers for electronics unless you put in a module for turn signals which I did not do. (I have hands) I turned my signals into running lights. I would also suggest a Crane or Ultima ign system to complete it and make it bullet proof. Ya, things can still go wrong but there aren't as many things to deal with and they are all cheap to fix.

If you can read/strip a wire and turn a wrench it's not a hard job.
