Karata belt alignment

Got the drive installed yesterday,havent rode yet,just ran the bike on the jack. the belt barely hangs over the outside of the rear pulley about .015-.020. is this normal? i checked the pulleys with a straight edge and they were dead on.

I know the belts track to the left a bit. When I installed mine I ended up re-shimming my transmission. The shimming it came with was really whacked and there was no rhyme or reason to the shimming it came with. You might want to call Jim and ask him how much he's seen them track over. Mine tracks over just a little (barely rubs the pulley cover). You have pulley covers on your pulleys, correct?

mine barley rubs the front...hence track to left and the back or tranny pulley the belt tracks maybe 20ths inside my back pulley cover.

yes it rubs the front pulley cover some ,and the rear pulley cover is smaller in diameter than the pulley ans the belt barely hangs over,not even really enough to catch a fingernail on
