Anyone know what the CA law is regarding vertical license plates? I already did it but wondering "what if I get stopped?" That and the novelty helmet may add up to a big fine.

Unfortunately, the Big Dog dealer (Coast Chopper) that was in El Cajon closed. The closest dealer is 1000 Palms (near Palm Springs). Haven't been there yet, so don't know what to expect. May make the trip next month.

Thanks. rich:up:

its a cool place. Worth checking out. I bought mine there last month, very nice peeps and very nice facility. Funny my bike came from the el cajon store it was an inventory buy out.

There is a big bike rally oct 11 in downtown palm springs. Lots of fun and a good time to check out the shop. The shop is called Maddog motorcycles. Its on the 10 and Ramon exit right across the street from the truck wash west of the flying J truck stop.

If you go talk to JOSH. Tell him the guy with the green K 9 said to see him really cool dude, (NO I don't get anything from it, he was just really nice to me and my family)

Display of License Plates
5200. (a) When two license plates are issued by the department for use upon a vehicle, they shall be attached to the vehicle for which they were issued, one in the front and the other in the rear.

(b) When only one license plate is issued for use upon a vehicle, it shall be attached to the rear thereof , unless the license plate is issued for use upon a truck tractor, in which case the license plate shall be displayed in accordance with Section 4850.5.
Amended Sec. 27, Ch. 594, Stats. 2003. Effective January 1, 2004.

Positioning of Plates
5201. License plates shall at all times be securely fastened to the vehicle for which they are issued so as to prevent the plates from swinging, shall be mounted in a position so as to be clearly visible, and shall be maintained in a condition so as to be clearly legible. The rear license plate shall be mounted not less than 12 inches nor more than 60 inches from the ground, and the front license plate shall be mounted not more than 60 inches from the ground, except as follows:

California Vehicle Code Division 3, Chapter 1, Article 9 Table of Contents

2008 Vehicle Code General Provisions and Divisions 1 - 18 Table of Contents

So I'd say that a vert is legal.
