I have a 10.5" BD wind vest which can be removed in 2 seconds if I need to be cool...........but the only reason I would wear a full face helmet is if I was riding a Honda and didn't want anyone to recognize me.

For me, there's another reason for the full face. Have you ever heard of Terry Don West? He's a professional bull rider with numerous national titles. #1 in the world for quite a while......until a bull stepped on his face. He actually made a come back and did quite well, but from that point on, he never rode without full face protection. I'm a lot like that. When I was 20, I drove my bike through a fence and hit an apartment mailbox with my face. Knocked out most my teeth, tracheotomy on the spot, split my nose in half shoving the other half up into my sinus cavity. After numerous plastic surgeries to make a new nose and even more oral surgery to fix my mouth, I seldom ride without a full face anymore. Like I said, "to each their own". It's hard to look cool when you're looking for your nose on the pavement.

No disrespect Brad and very sorry....and can totally understand your reasoning for a full face. Can't say a full windshield might have prevented injury either. Understand no matter what precautions we take, every time we saddle-up, full face or not, there is a chance of a broken neck....or hit by a bus.

To each their own is right......I choose to ride with and without a small wind vest and no helmet when the law allows. Ride safe :2thumbs:

Oh yeah.....& I'm a pussy....proud of it. but You won't catch me on a Honda :)

Hahahahhaha....there's some funny stuff on this thread, with the exception of Brad's story. Yes, it's a quick detachable windshield. Should have said that at the beginning. And I do take it off to be kewl. One thing can be said after looking at everyone's replies.....like it or not...they respect my choice. And that in itself is kewl......thanx eveyone.

I didn't mean to bring anyone down with that story. When I'm in a state with no helmet law and I'm not going any distance, I enjoy riding without a helmet too! :D Alcohol had a lot to do with that accident too. That was 30 years ago and I hope I've learned something since then. If I did, I've probably forgotten it by now. Getting older sucks with memory. :job: Has anyone ever been riding down the highway and have a locust hit them in the face? Talk about SUCKS!!! I can see the advantage of a windshield or a full face. It's also hard to look cool wiping that yellow locust shit off your face. Besides that, it hurts like hell. :bang: I use to be "bullet proof", but not any more.

I don't care for it, but not for the above reasons.

It makes the custom headlight not look right due to the gap between it and the shield.
