K9 vs. Honda Fury...?

To each his / her own.
 Very true, brother! I'd much rather see someone riding by on a Honda Fury or whatever bike they chose, than someone tailgating me in their SUV:eek: and/or driving over me while talking on their cellphone or texting on their blackberry!:rant:

Yea, Honda is a metric, but that company is very diversified and also been around the motor world a long time. Maybe I'm weird :loony: , but I take the fact that a BDM was chose to used to compare against, an HONOR! :flag: Think about it, who better to compare your new product against than the U.S.'s national leading manufacture of "Custom Motorcycles"! :2thumbs: So what's that saying about the BDM products?
And please don't take me wrong here. The comparative report could have been performed by a "much more" competent reporter that had more knowledge about motorcycles, and also a reporter that was taller than than "Four Feet Nothing" evidently, if these bars truly felt like "ape-hangers" too him!
Hey, I'll be the first one to admit the K-9 is a somewhat Big Bike! But I have yet to meet anyone, other than a "few" girls, that have a hard time with it's size. And that is mostly due to it's weight and mass!
So give me a brake here, "a hard time reaching the controls"? :loony:
I guess since they know it wouldn't even come "up" to par, They decided it might work out better if a "Midget" was used to do the investigative reporting on this one! You all know the kind, the one with the "Short Man Complex" or Little-"Cesar Mentality"!

Goes to show you that now: "You can't always believe what you even read"! :nono: :nono: :nono: :nono:

Another round please
I don't subscribe to this rag (V-Twin mags only for me)
I get V-twin mag. I have not been happy  with all the Jap bike v-twin custom stuff lately. I don't give a shit about a Jap bike that a custom builder re-does to try and make it look like a BDM. Some builders are selling out. I won't re-subscribe if this continues.

Even the Discovery Channel is doing build offs with Metrics. I don't watch anymore due to this.

Ditto! I wish they'd re-run the old biker build-off series from 3-4 years ago! My favorite was the Arlen & Cory Ness Hawaiian Biker Build-off episode.

(and fyi, I only subscribe to American Iron, Barnett's and Hot Bike...that's it!)

OK, I saw a Fury on the road the other day, while I was out with my Realtor... that thing looks cheap and like a toy. Even though I don't want one, I was hoping for more because I like choppers.

I was wishing I was out on mine when I saw that guy on the Fury. :reddevil:

I was happy to see a K9 on the cover but you are absolutely right... the comparision with a K9 was almost insulting. Gutsy move by Honda to introduce a longer wheel base, raked bike (tough for me to really call it a chopper) in this economy but it had obviously been on the R&D plan for quite some time. The writer was pretty harsh on the Furby but not too kind on to the K9 either. Personally, I got a kick out of seeing their pictures riding in the space helmets with giant bubble shields.

I absolutely agree with you here Dead!!!

I look at their comparison as a way of saying "on a scale of 1 to 10, where does the Honda fall?" and the standard (the "10") used is the Big Dog... :D

Having viewed and mounted the Honda first hand, I can say that there is no real side by side comparison. the Fury "looks" like a chopper when parked next to a crotch rocket or metric cruiser. However, when parked next to a BDM Chopper or K9, the Fury looks intimidated. The overall size and length are comparatively smaller than BDM and the extensive use of plastic (both fenders, engine covers and more) become very apparent. Yes, parked alone it will generate conversation, but parked amongst metal and steel monsters it appears to be a toy.

I think the Fury is a great bike for someone who can't afford a Big Dog, and wants a chopper. 13k is cheap, but you can now find KILLER deals on used and left over dogs that make it tough to pass on one and opt for a Fury.

If money is really tight, and someone doesn't mind a metric, the Fury is a great deal. Me, I'd save and pick up a used Dog if I was in that situation. Our Dogs are true customs to me. :2thumbs:

Did any one see the fugly couple on this site. Fury vs. Big Dog - VTXOA.
Of course they talk shit about the Big Dog. Explaining to someone like them why you would buy a BDM over the much cheaper Honda, besides the WOW factor of the BDM, is like explaining to a snail how an internal combustion engine works.
The comment about the Honda having cutting edge technonlogy well it damn well better. Just like an ugly chick will cook, clean and suck a mean d*ck. The Honda has to offer something to make up for it's short comings.
That's why I'll happily eat my ole ladies shitty cooking.
