K9 saddlebags installation??

Hello:
I got a set of used saddlebags for my K9 ( those bags came from a K9) ok, they come with two mounting brackets, an aluminum part that hold together the brackets also a bunch of bolts.

So i already figured it out how to attached the bags to the brackets but i dont know how attached the brackets to the bike, the guy who sold me the bags told me that the dealer installed them, when he got the bike and he removed them before he sold it so he told me that the fender had the mounting holes underneath the struts, so bike doesnt come with the predrilled holes.

My question: Does somebody have the installations or know how to installed the bags on the K9?

Here is a couple of pics of the bags.

Thanks in advance.

The kit should have come with the fender struts. These struts have mounting holes on the bottom side for the brackets that you have. The mount for the plate must also be relocated to the rear end of the brackets. The wiring for the plate lights should also be ran through one of the brackets. Hope this helps.

I don't have the struts with the holes at the bottom. No relocated bracket for the license plate. So I think I will have to pass on the installations of this bags, I know I can always tap holes on the struts I have but I don't really want to deal with this. Also I think I overpaid for them almost $1000,
These will go to fleabay to see what happens.
Thanks again!

What all did you get? Just the two bags and the two brackets? What is in the bottom of the first picture? The kit re-uses your current plate mount, but there should be another aluminum piece the bolts between the two brackets at the rear that your current plate bracket mounts to.

I have a spare set of K9 struts available if you need them. Should be able to fabricate a bracket before the back

So I think the only thing you are missing is the fender struts and longer wire for the plate lights. If you wanted to, you could drill and tap three holes in the bottom of each of your fender struts in order to make it all work. That aluminum bracket does bolt between the two ends of the brackets then your plate bracket mounts over that.

Alex,

Have you decided to keep the kit, pick up and modify a spare set of fender struts and try to make this work? If you do, can you provide us with some pictures of your progress and completion?
