K&N vs S&S filter

I've been looking at the S&S high flow air filter and adaptor kit. It is an additional 1" on the filter.

Question 1 is S&S camparable (stock) to a K&N?
Question 2 am I better off with the K&N filter or this set up?

Opinions welcome.

The K&N will flow better then the S&S. You can get the kit then eventually upgrade to the K&N which is what I did. Then you'll never have to buy a filter again. The K&N come in both sizes. You can probably get the standoff extension at a hardware store instead of paying S&S all that money.

You can do BOTH!!

Get the S&S extension kit
then get the K&N filter...

I don't remember the part numbers... Vegas has my old setup maybe he can help.

I would go with the K&N or Green filters. Reason is they are re-usable so will last longer over the long run. They come in thousand of sizes. As I've posted here before the K&N site is just to hard to find things in whereas the Green site you can locate your size filter pretty quickly. I don't think there is any difference between the two.

I just posted in the other thread on filters this link if you want to learn a little bit about filtration and if there is a big difference in flow versas filtration.

I'm sticking with my S&S filter....I didn't like the fit of the K&N. It was just enough shorter to where I felt the extensions needed modified. There just isn't that much difference unless it's long term cost.
