:moped:Yea, the 250 only offers the 111 cubic inch, and they wont allow you to upgrade to the bigger engine. I guess they figure that if it is really that important to you to get the 117, you'll fork out the extra cash to get the K-9.:choppersmiley:
that extra 4 - 5 hp is a HUGE difference

The 111 can make some good hp numbers "stock", although I'm not sure about BDM numbers. Do some Youtube research on the 111's, they can make damn good power (AIH bikes did anyway). Their 111's were making in the neighborhood of 105 - 108hp & 115 - 118 ft lbs of torque STOCK!

The new BD 117 will give you about 90hp & 100ft lbs off the floor. You'll have to do an intake swap, cam & pipe change with a tune to get numbers like that.

The one positive thing Is that Harley Grips and control will work on the "mini" and
not just BDM stuff....I believe. not know as fact...If this is the case you can just pick that J & P book up and shop away.

So was American Ironhorse. That's why they only warrantied the bike for six months with the 124 installed.
S&S only offered that to at the time on motors they sold (6 months back in '04).............they are up to 1 year on the warranty now.

120+hp off the floor "stock". (I know :D)

Pablo & Ray,

Just want to apologize if I offended you guys or anyone else about my earlier post. Tire size and engine size doesn't make anyone less or more of anything. I was just trying to say that given the option most would want the bigger tire and engine. Wouldn't want to see anyone regret anything over a few extra dollars. That's why I chose Big dog over Harley (nothing against Harley). Just my opinion. Much respect to the senior members on this site, and if I offended you once again I apologize.

Just my 2cents ... I have rode with guys that have the 330s and 300s and when things get twisty and bumpy "back roads " I have left them in the dust ...now it could be that I'm justa go for it "I am" and they can't ride fast or chose not to but it "seems" that the added mass of the huge tires do have a affect on handling ...This is JUST my 2cents and many factors could be at play ... hears another observation , SOME of the owners of these huge tire bikes are very content to "bar hop " and short ride/profile ride the machines and not take them for several hundred mile rides .. all of witch is fine !!!! But I will say this you rarely will see a huge tire on a handling machine sport touring included! The huge tire machines HAVE to contend with added rotating mass ...with that said even a 250 tire is considered big .. Most sport touring sites really don't consider a chopper a handling machine ..and it's not .. Its all what you like and the compromises your willing to contend with ...to sum up a huge tire machine will bring the most attention at bike night  they do look aw sum!!!!!!

My 2008 K-9 EFI came with a 300 rear tire. 330 tire, did my 030 fall off??:spank:

I had a 04 Chopper with a 250 tire. A 250 tire takes turns sharper than a 300, only thing I noticed and I also got a bigger motor. I love the way my 300 tire looks from behind. Fat azz

If you can step up for the K-9, go for it.

I wouldn't change my Chopper for anything, hell it's carried me there and back.

Not to mention (if you ride alot) the difference in tire mileage. I'm averaging 20,000 a tire well maybe except for that blow-out in Daytona a few years ago!!! :D Check out the tire mileage theads on the 300 tire. Good thing too cause I've been commuting 153 miles a day in LA traffic this week and racking up the miles.

Best advise is ride each one and draw your own comclusions. As for the different motors I don't think you will notice the difference in these EPA motors. I've ridden the 111 Bagger and it's a strong motor.

BBC, Choppers forever :2thumbs:

perfect!

Super! I appreciate all the in-put. That's what I wanted to hear; a bunch of different perspctives from those of you that have been down that road before (pun). Believe me I am taking this stuff in and processing it in my tiny, puny brain.
Is there a difference between "smart ass", and just plain funny? I love humor.
But seriously....thanks a lot.:troll:

I am far from the man love and the suck up type. Just trying to take the high road for once. Got so much crap going on in my life I could give a fuck less about petty bullshit like this. I believe everyone has the the right to be entitled to their opinion. That's what the original poster of this thread wanted. If your the type that's gonna be offended over fucking nonsense like that then I believe their are other issues going on there. I can go on and on but I am chosing to stop. Hope in the future things can be settled face to face instead of over a keyboard thousands of miles away. I bet the reactions would be different then. Take care all, wish you all best, and I am officially done with this thread!!!!!!!!!!!!!
