Is it just me, or do you notice there seems to be one of these limited edition in any dealer you visit... whether I look on-line or my local dealer, everyone seems to have at least one of these still in stock....for a limited edition, they sure are pretty prevalent :skep:

To me when a manufacturer, especially car manufactures, calls their vehicle "limited", that usually means "limited" to as many as they can sell.

Our dealer in Washinton is not a high-volume dealer, but they sold the one they were allocated before it arrived, and then negotiated for two more, which were also sold immediately. That's all I know, based on local experience.

BTW, that reminds me of a quote from one of out local salesmen. I once made a comment on a really wild paint job, wondering who would buy something that radical. His response was, "Not EVERYBODY has to love that bike - I just have to find the ONE PERSON who does." Sure enough, it was sold the next week.

The moral of the story - not everyone loves that limited edition design - but there are several that do.

I love mine! I came off a Night Train and I really liked the look of the Black motor with the Diamond cut heads and the contrast cut wheels. I told the dealer I would probably have my friend (Who paints bikes and offshore boats) repaint it eventually. He about had a fit. Different strokes.....

There was only 100 hundred and each dealer from my understanding initial got an allocation of one. So it would make it pretty limited say much more than the, oh 1 of 100,000 100th anniversary edition HD Softails.

Since most dealers only had one and if they carry a pretty good selection, it would not be the fasting selling in general. They are nice bikes and do have a different take on them, but I know when I go into my local BD dealer, it would be hard for me to choose that one when right next to it may be one of the other many models with say a level 9 paint job.

They are nice though and since it is of the few models that would be exactly alike as at least 99 others, for BD it would be somewhat limited. I say this for the other non-limited models I think tend to be more limited due to the many variety of paints jobs available. Even on the basic paint jobs, I have not ran into too many that look exactly like another and when spread out over typical 5 models per year, each one is even less likely to be exactly like another.

Dicolo,
I like your tast in HD bikes  ...I still have my train, and I too am a fan of the blacked out look. I just opted for more chrome when I bought the K-9. Its really a matter of preference....I think the limited edition has a unique look, but I was just wondering why there was so many amongst the dealer

I agree that it would look plain next to a level 9 paint job. I would never have gotten a black w/ pinstrip K9 if the limited hadn't come with some other little touches that I loved. No hard feelings, I read eveyones opinions before I bought it. I still love my fat-bottomed "Black Betty" K9.

That's kind of like the commercials you here on TV when they advertise something and say, Limited Time offer, Be the first to call. and you are still hearing the same commercial a year later. :job:

I really like it.

I think these bikes have sexy lines and do not need a lot of graphics.

That's just me, not to take away those who do.
