Hi All.
For those that have followed the sagas over the past 10mths of me and my Dog, i now have an other couple.
I have to go on a fair ride this upcoming weekend, so i thought i would give the Dog a birthday and change all the oils. Now i have done the engine oil and filter, no issues there. But the tranny was getting a bit tight and upon finally getting the drain plug out i got 2 tea spoons of oil out of her. I don't have any oil under the bike anywhere..................so where did it go?
Secondly i removed the primary oil, it was like treakle and as black as soot.
I have done the reasearch on the oils and have decided on ATF in the primary and 75-145 in the tranny.
Also i haad the bike in the shop to get a fork tube replaced, the mechanic look at the front tyre any say "your not going anywhere with a tyre like that".
The front tyre was split 3/4 the way around just below the rim. This is a tyre that was supposed to be replaced a year ago due to import rules, obviously not. Fucken A_Z imports................just another dodgy job by this mob.:bang:

Sorry to hear about all the problems you're having with your scoot. When was the last time the oil was changed in your tranny. What type of oil (brand/viscosity) was used then?

I just like my Freedom
Make sure you've pulled the correct drain plug on the trans. On my 04 Pitbull its the small center plug on the bottom side of the actuator cover. It should take 20s ozs. to fill.

All fluids and tyres are (see were) supposed to be changed by the importer, so this time last year.
As for brand and type, i have decided to run with HD tranny oil and Penrite mineral ATF in the Primary.
Not sure if that will fix my clutch slipage in top gear when i crack the whip.
One problem with ATF is if you do hav a small leak it WILL find it.
Yep i have the right plug.

If it was imported it might have been shipped less fluids which is common when shipping hydraulic systems and importer might have fill engine oil only; just speculating. I have worked in several businesses that exported and we typically drained oils prior to shipping.

Hi Steve, you are probably 100% correct, that makes it a big opps on my part for not checking.
The G'box was getting tight and a real bang to get into first.
The best bit was I was asked to run it at the local bike drags the weekend prior, boy i'm glad i decided not to.
Still haven't run it yet since top up but i am hoping all will be well.

Well the Dog finally went for a decent run over the weekend.
Rode 600klm with no problems, first day
Caught up with the pack of 500 bikes, bed roll fell off, no one told me. Got to destination and then i was aware of it, almost lost my new leather jacke as well.
Got the pack back, from a lovely old soul, shouted him several beers over the next few hours.

Put the pack back on the rack and noticed my rear guard very loose, all the strut bolts about to fall out............fixed all that.
Next stop 100 klm up the road and my mate rides up along side point to me to pull up.
Now my licence plate and stop light is about to disapear up under my back wheel and guard.(can't have side mount over here). Now no stop light, tail light or licence plate and riding i a pack of 500 bike doing 30 mile an hour over the state limit, love living on the edge.................not. A combination of vibration, and very rough roads with big pot holes, ..........gotta love our National Hiway.....................fucken goat track, over 1500 klm done over the weekend.

Got home last night and my new 6000 klm ago rear tyre is down to canvas WTF.
Metzler is the only choice unless i want a Cobra..............are we still having trouble with them?
Will check all oils once i calm down, gear box and clutch seemed to work well concidering.

I wish Tom, I have been several times.
Loved the people, the roads, the scenery but not the food.

Yeh my Dog's giving me some greif, but i never thought for one moment it would be a sit on and ride machine, i have had them. I need a challange or 2 to keep my mind active.
