Just want to throw this out and see if there is any interest in this sort of thing…..
I have designed, printed a board, programmed a board, found a housing and tested this PLUG and PLAY RFID security system I made for Big Dogs on my 2005 RB and my 2008 K9….one CARB and one EFI application…just so I could test it on my bikes…and have been running them for about 6 months now…no issues….
These are PLUG AND PLAY RFID kits for Big Dog OEM wiring/RIP KITs, instructions provided, and all you have to do is plug it in, mount it where you want to, follow directions, connect ground and battery and you are good to go. Mounting areas are up to you, but instructions will give you examples. EACH unit has it’s own RFID code out of BILLIONS of codes….
Antenna included (for distance), program button included (mount it where it's somewhat accessible), instructions included for programming, fits underneath Ignition module under side battery covers, OR UNDER IGNITION COIL cover etc…..or wherever you feel it is safer to install,hide and not accessible..I can customize WIRE length, customize other wiring schematics as well…..This is PLUG and PLAY for BDM's from 2004-2011 with OEM/RIP wiring!!! It will work with OEM EHC,AXEL EHC and RIP KIT and It will fit UNDERNEATH ignition module, meaning, it's small.....PLUG n PLAY....
You can program 3 modes:
Mode 1: High security mode. start and run with fob nearby, but if you're out of range for 40 seconds, you walk away to let it warm up etc….bike will shut down and can not restart without FOB within range. Won’t EVEN start without FOB anyway, so, no one can HOTWIRE your bike and steal it even if they for some reason have a key or hotwire it….it’s just NOT going to START! it will shut down 40seconds after 50ft (or whatever you set the distance to) is exceeded…..and won’t restart. Hell, hand a guy your key, without FOB, will NOT START! If it’s already running, someone gets 50ft away (or how many feet you program it to), bike will completely shut down after 50 seconds).
Mode 2: Low security mode. Bike will run AFTER it is started with key, and drive, but ONCE it is turned off and key fob is not around, you can NOT restart bike without FOB in range...
Mode 3: NO security mode. IDIOT MODE (sorry, why buy one and put this mode on, but….)
Comes pre-programmed to MODE 1!!! But also comes with programming instructions and speaker for programming…..beep beep
These also come with programable DISTANCE parameters (and antenna) you can set/PROGRAM to your liking, within 5-200 feet (depending on interference)…..up to you to set the distance you feel comfortable with....each FOB can be programmed uniquely from the other…..so, you can set ONE fob up to 50 feet, mode 1, other up to 150 feet, mode 2, etc.... plus what it does.....or acts…..DO NOT LOSE OR MISPLACE your FOBs!!!
I'm running one on my 2005 CARB RIDGEBACK, and one on my 2008 k9 EFI and work fine….If your bike has custom wiring, or basic wiring, or an old wire plus kit etc….I can adapt and customize it for you.
If you want one, let me know…I am thinking around charging $265/unit + shipping, I mostly HAND make these….I print the boards on my 3d printer, solder my own wires, use my raspberry pie to program them etc…AND, since I’m guessing there are NOT a lot of people who want one, not going to mass produce them, will hand make EACH UNIT! But, if I got like 25+ orders, I’d drop it down…..
And, I am shipping one to ERIC at HDM to test as well, Shannon too if he wants one….
