Hey Paul, try motorcycleroads.com for rides that are in the area that you will be visiting.
If you have never rode the Cherohala Skyway, you owe it to yourself to ride it. The Dragon(Hwy. 129) is not really suited for the Big Dogs, but if you want to ride the 300+ curves, be prepared to drag some metal off your bike. I am in the Oak Ridge area myself so I really can't help you with the area you are headed, but the website I mentioned should help you find some good rides. Hope that helps.

I agree with bowhunter Cherohala Skyway also Gatlinburg,Pigeon Forge,and Cades Cove all of the aera is beautiful. Just crowded this time of year.Just out of Johnson City is Roan Mountain you can ride across into NC and hit the Blue Ridge Parkway alot of nice places to see like Grandfather Mt.,Mt Mitchell and Table Rock if you ever saw the movie Last Of The Mohicans it was filmed here this is where i live :up:

Ditto. I like the Cherohola Skyway for sure. Its a nice ride through the hills with some curves and nice views. I would go for Deals Gap too as long as you are confident in your riding ability. I've done it on my K9 and, while its not ideal, its nice ot say you've "Tamed the Dragon" so to speak. Its also nice to see the look on the faces of the sport bike guys when you go tearing up US 129. They will ask you if you're crazy but its not that bad. Hell you can't go fast enough to do much damage unless you run off the side of the road completely anyhow.

CherryCola Skyway for sure, Deals Gap for the 318 turns in 11 miles, Foothills Parkway, Shade Valley to many to list. All great riding.
Be careful on the Dragon and CherryCola, many curves and make sure you pay attention. Errors can be very unhealthy up there is you do not. Have fun a post some pictures.
