Just the handle, not the whole foot clutch etc. He just had the handle that mounted on the back of the foot shift rod...it was like 8" long. He'd let off and shift up, I ride around with my left hand in my lap a lot anyway so I think it'd be cool!

Cool idea but, as much as my bike jerks around, I don't think I'd shift it without a clutch.

I'd like to see one bolted on though. Bet it would look cool.

I know Cavracer was talking about doing a dual foot/hand combo... he has it designed but hasn't got to making it yet...

I quite often go up through the gears without the clutch - just a quick zip off the gas so it isn't driving - as Sul says though not sure I'd want to hit it that hard one handed

Why go hand shift if you're not going to foot clutch? I remember those OCC dudes making psuedo jockey shifters. I think it is more suited for an old school bike, but to each his/her own.

I would be curious to see how it would turn out.

Hey BDMridgeback, do you know if this will work on our bikes? I really want a right side shifter myself..

building the shifter is the easy part. its buildin the foot clutch that gets tricky. if anyones interested im still workin on it slowly. my design would allow you to still have the hand clutch as well as the foot.

I used to ride on a WCC CFL inspired rigid with a Suicide shift and foot clutch. Its fine once you're accustomed to it but starting out is the biggest issue but you learn your bike and all is fine. Oh starting out as the first bike at an intersection and turning also is tricky at 1st but it all works out. No turn and burn thats for sure

Isn't there a guy a Gateway that put both a foot clutch and jockey shift on some big dogs? I thought there was something mention on here about it before...

Yep. Goto Gateway Thunder Big Dog in St. Louis (can't remember the exact web address). They've done several. Thinking of doing same on my 06 K9. Ridin'em alot in my life and am comfortable with it. But I prefer the traditional suicide (shifter down low, right on my left side, just below my seat). They're fun as hell, but do take a minute to get used to.

Now, if I could just figure out how to run upswept fishtail pipes on my bike....
