Mine pops on every gear change and decel.. I love the way it sounds and a lot of other people do too.. but that's just my opinion.. but as far as the plugs go, looks about normal.. I run without baffles. But I averaged about 48 mpg on our last trip to KS, and average about 42 -43 in my normal city driving.

As far as your jetting goes follow the s&s guide lines. If you can keep it steady at 50 mph in 3rd gear with no stumbling and then roll on the throttle and you get good excelleration and if your bike will cruse at 55 mph at 2500-3000 rpm and there's no hesitation then the jetting is good as you can get it without putting it on a Dino. As for the deceleration popping have you looked at DK Customs Thunder torque inserts. They help my pipes with the popping. They act like a baffle without hurting your hp and give you more torque.

What pipes do you have installed on your bike? If you have V&H Big Radius then you will benefit from installing big city thunder baffles. They did the trick for my chopper.

I can't say that I've ever seen this exhaust for a Big Dog. But I agree with Eric, without baffles in those shorties, you will have some decel pop. The S&S guide is a very good reference to go with and you'll have the benifit of learning about your carb and adjustments that can add a little more fine tune. Good luck :old2:
