any ideas for this one? used to be when i rode any constant speed above 40 or so the bike would cough/stumble once or twice every minute or 90 seconds. i had stock set up except for pipes. the pipes were about the shortest pipes one could buy.
i took it to a dyno guy in myrtle beach and he changed the main jet and adjusted the carb.( bike was to long to run it on the dyno) no real change other than it idled a little smoother and felt a little more responsive. i have since put the s&s desperado air cleaner w/ k&n filter, s&s 600 cam, and v&h big radius 2 in 2 pipes on it. now it seems to cough/stumble much more. second gear tooling through the neighborhood, 40-45 on main roads, and especially at highway speeds. i just pulled the carb down and it is currently set up with .076 main and .0295 intermediate jets. am i thinking in the right direction or maybe something else i should take a look at? the cough/stumble is quick, i will be rolling right along and blah for 1/2 second then right back to normal, some times it is blah, blah then back to cruzin. any ideas are greatly appreciated.
