I've been to hell and now I'm back again.

Hello friends.
I didn't know I had so many but what a blessing you all have turned out to be for both me and Cindy.

THE PRESENT;
I'm home now. 3 month of hospital time is a memory now.
I have outpatient rehab to go to Monday thru Friday for the next couple of months.
I am able to walk with just a cane......believe me that a big step from where I was not so very long ago.
Cindy continues help me and make life beautiful. I couldn't have got more lucky than the day she walked in to my life.
My speech is decent and my brain gets more (re)wired back together everyday. It just takes time and therapy they say. I'll make it.
I have a lot to be thankful for including all of you who prayed for me,sent cards, came to see me in the hospital, signed the really cool Big Dog banner, and offered Cindy you're support and help.
This board has been an amazing source of encourgement through this ordeal.
Cindy would come to the hospital everyday and read me the posts from her "smart" phone. Thank you all.

THE PAST;
I'm had a lot of time to think about where I want to go from here and that brings me back to reflecting on the past as well.
I've been different people in different stages of my life.

As Jerry Jeff Walker might say " just lettin' roll it, lettin the high times carry the low, just liven my life easy came, easy go."

With all the years that have gone by I've mellowed and aged in to a kinder gentler man.
I used to think I was a bit of a tough guy. Well, that's gone now.
After all I've been through of late I've come to realize that there other folks in my life that are the tough ones.
But the ultimate fighter in my life is my wife Cindy. She had to endure the numerous times when I was in ICU and they called her to tell her my heart has stopped and I was gone. This happened 4 times. I can't imagine how hard that must have been.
She came to see EVERY DAY in the hospital. Driving through all kinds of Dallas traffic to get there. Taking care of of my needs at the hospital that the nurses had over looked. Paying the bill and keeping things at home together the whole time. Compared to her I'm a wuss.

THE FUTURE;
I've come to view this whole experience as my Second Chance at life.
One where I can make changes for the better and be a better person.

I've come to believe in the power of prayer. I believe that those of you who prayed for me saved my life.
It wasn't anything like my will power that kept bringing me back. It was something else much larger that me that did that.
In my mind, if you prayed for me, you had a part in saving my life-------THANK YOU ALL.
I can't imagine how I can pay this back but give me a chance if you need some help and I'll see what I can do.

I intend to spend more time with my family. They carried me through this ordeal and that's what I want to do.

I want to be kinder and more generous to others as I run across them in my life.

That's about all I have for right now. I get tired easily and it's dinner time now too:lol:.

THANK ALL OF YOU AGAIN. YOU GUYS ARE THE BEST.

Andy
