In response to the recent posts:

It is official, there is a policy on this site that every post must be pro BDM to the point it oozes skittles, gummy bears, and glitter. Otherwise the poster shall be flogged and chastised by the other members who sport BDM tramp stamp tattoos, and who are lucky enough to not experience the same issues we post about.

I don’t know if your wives smack you around, you have dick head bosses who bend you over or what your excuses are but you sure must get off on consistently acting like a bully.

If your bike is perfect, many of us truly envy you. There are plenty of owners who have been down a long path of frustration with stock bikes, and of course us who experience both BDM issues and those inadvertently caused by ourselves. When we post on this site it is because we are seeking some type of understanding and fellowship that we cannot receive elsewhere such as from our wives, non-biker friends, and pets. This should be obvious. I do not think anyone posts here looking to be harassed, but it sure gets dished out fast. If I wanted to get bitched at, I wouldn’t come here… I’d forget to take the trash out.

Let this simmer in your cranium…. This site would get more donations if you didn’t beat up everyone with a different perspective then you. Kick someone in the balls and then hold your hand out and you’ll pull back a turd – not a donation.

I seriously plead with the guilty parties, knock off the horse shit. If you think a class action lawsuit is not a good idea, state that. If my EHC fried and yours didn't, and I decide to post about it, you don't have to take it as a personal attack. You don't have to go into dick mode and bust out the chains and whips. Just chill and sport those tramp stamp BDM tatoos.

I love my bike too - most of the time. Being an owner entitles me to an opinion. I don't expect everyone to agree with said opinion, but that does not give the individual with a different opinion the right to slam members simply because of a different thought process. We are different people.... This would be a boring forum if everyone agreed on every issue, which seems like what is being forced lately. I wen out and hugged my bike just to show it there were no hard feelings. I also apologized for everytime I farted on it. It said it forgives me and will run again.

Toadstool, it's apparent you've experienced some frustrations regarding what you perceive as derogatory replies to unflattering BDM posts. If that's the case, I'll man-up and apologize if I put anything on this forum that may have offended you or any other valued member. IMHO, each of us regardless of our level of experience has something of value to offer our brothers, sisters and guests on this forum.

I still consider myself as kind of a new guy here, so please hang with me for a moment, I can only really speak about my experience and observations since I've encountered this site. The vast majority of the replies I've come across here are very helpful and positive. That's not to say you will see some poorly worded rants on occasion. But afterall, this is a site for bikers not a geriatric bridge club. Some of us are a bit more gruff and opininated than others, as you obviously are as well. That's to be expected.

Posts I take exception to are those who bitch for the sake of bitching. They're not really looking for assistance, they just want to vent. And to be honest, I have no issue with someone venting to get shit off their chest. That's fine. But when you post your vents as if you're looking for help and continue to whine no matter how much assistance or positive replies you receive, well, that's pointless.

Finally, if you do receive negative responses to a genuine request for help, I recommend you be the adult and ignore those that offend you. But post genuinely asking and willing to accept assistance will get helpful information from the majority of our membership. Good luck. :chillpill:

I can't believe I'm even gonna weigh in on this but WTF I got nothing better to do at the moment. I've worked on all kinds of bikes, I mean really worked on them, inside and out, and I can tell you that as far as the cookie cutter customs or whatever you want to call them, BD is a great bike. Now having said that, you can't really use a HD or Jap bike as a baseline to compare, it's apples to oranges. They are built differently, under different manufacturing processes, with different R&D, etc. BD's are temper-mental, but so are ANY of these types of bike. You're bolting together everything with a jackhammer of an engine, solid mounted to a frame. It's going to fall apart, period. There is no way to make it really reliable. It's that hot blonde you married who steals a hundred outa your wallet every morning while your in the shower and gives your best friend a blowjob when your all out at the bar partying. It's gonna let you down, sooner or later, it's just gonna happen. What really gets under my skin are the crybabies who come here to bloop about it. I have dealt with so many of these guys over the years it makes me sick. Quit your wining and fix the fucking thing yourself. It's the nature of the beast, deal with it or sell it. Don't say you don't have the time, or the skill. When I got my BD, I didn't even know how to drain the oil. I knew NOTHING about American motorcycles and that fucker left me stranded so many times in some of the worst situations. My first time going to Myrtle Beach I had to push start the thing EVERY time for a whole week, but I did it with a smile, especially after a few beers. But I never cried, and I never said I was gonna sue anyone. I brought it to the dealership one time because it was still under warranty, and they had it a month and never fixed the problem, so from then on I fixed it myself, even though it was still under warranty. I learned the hard way, picking up whatever I could from an old local mechanic and this site, hell I didn't even own any tools at first. EVERYTHING you need to fix this bike is right here, and even though I don't even have a BD anymore I stick around because I feel it's my duty to give back because I learned so much here. If you don't have the time to fix the bike, you don't have the time to own it. Sell it to someone who does. Don't come here to cry, then get pissed when nobody jumps on the crybaby bandwagon, it's the BD forum for fucks sake, not the "I hate my BD" forum. Who the hell are you going to sue anyway?

maybe since you don't have a BD anymore, moe, you are able to see things from a different perspective than the rest of the membership. your opinion is certainly a refreshing one. concise and clear-spoken. as lee would say; good on ya', mate.

Moe, while your post was both lengthy and insightful, it really went off course to what I was trying to very clearly say. No one on THIS thread is bitching about their bike. Nor is anyone trying to make statements that they hate BDM. That was generalized and ignorant. The main point is that a bunch of you seem to get off on picking on someone with a different point of view. I'm not crying, bitching, or otherwise. You didn't hurt my feelings. I'm pointing to the facts. I'm glad you fix your own bike and you feel everyone else should be as Damn awesome as you. Reality is many don't wrench. Not really relevant to my first post, but entertaining rant.

This is hysterical and I agree because I followed the posts you're referring to.
Years ago id say they were lining up for the jungle juice.

My BD has been down since September. Only because I had two other running titled bikes.

And who was that mutt who still carries the cross for BD who started that bdpp thread?

I Who the hell are you going to sue anyway?
You have the wrong guy, it wasn't even me. I was referring to his post where he essentially got the piss beat out of him for mentioning it.

In summary: Life is way too short to get all pissy and go on the hunt to tear people down. If you disagree, say so and move on. There seem to be more and more posts where people jump on the “dick head” bandwagon and start pages of ignorant derogatory smart ass comments. I am trying to prevent the negativity disease from spreading like a virus on this forum.
Enjoy the ride….

If you don't wrench, go get a Honda, or be prepared to get real cozy with a good mechanic, this bike ain't for you. I've got no time for guys who come here just to bitch that their bike doesn't run, but are unwilling to even try to sort it out. That's my point.

Don't sweat it Toadstool.I just jump on the site to read through the threads once in awhile. I've been a certified BD tech for 11 years and most of these guys know much more than I do. I like when a brother Big Dog owner has a question, but if he doesn't do an intro everybody bitches like women. I guess this forum has enough members that its ok to be an asshole to potential members. Have a good day all!
