Did you try disconnecting the battery and shorting your battery cables together? Try this and see if it makes any difference. Just a thought...

I had a problem similar to this when I put my battery in for the first time this spring and I disconnected the battery and touched the two cables together then hooked them back up to the battery and everything worked fine.

I have seen this done with success on a vehicle, touching the ground and hot cables only, together or touching the hot cable to the frame, it is supposed to dump the stored cookies in the memory.

Short out the computer to dump the memory? Not sure that would be in listed in a factory service manual. Lol

We know the EHC has a high side switch that will Shut the current off.

To make this perfectly clear, remove the battery from the bike, you are only touching the ground and hot cables together, there isn't any power/battery involved.

There are several options out there, along with the 2 Curtis has there is DOC's deadonecustoms ESC also, do some searching and chose which one you want to go with.
I personally have the ESC and its been flawless for almost a year now since I installed it.:old2:

Maybe the lights stay on even after the battery is disconnected?
Big Dog....they are so fucked up, it's the only vehicle that can make power without a battery source.....lol

These things remind me of my mini bike that I stuffed a 10 horse Tecumsen engine in when I was a kid. Actually the crude mini bike was better engineered.

I hope yours is an easier solution but I was having a similar problem and ended up being the ehc. Randomly use the left or right control and horn would blow and bike would die etc etc...replaced ehc and no problems since. Hope its just a weak battery. How oftwn does it die and horn blow?
This is exactly what was happening to me also, change out the EHC, and not one problem since, save yourself a lot of time and headaches and bite the bullet and change the EHC out to one of DOC's ESC's, you will be happy without a doubt!:yesnod: :old2:

Well thank guys for all the help figuring out what was wrong with my dog. I've decided to go back with a ehc from Curtis seems to be the easiest option. Hopefully I will have it this week or next. Thanks again for all the help..... I'll keep u posted on how the new ehc works out
