Issue with LED Bulb on Headlight

Energy One
I have a 2010 Bulldog Bagger and have a buddy with the same bike. We both bought led bulbs for the headlight. The light switches from low to high beam about 10 seconds after you start the bike. I switch it back to low and almost immediate it changes back to high beam. Replaced the high/low switch on handlebar and still doing the same. Does anyone have any thoughts on this problem? Thanks for any help.

What kind of bulb are you running? I never had that problem with curtis’ led light he sells or the day maker I’m using now like most of us on here. I usually always use my high beam so that would not be ok over here lol

We bought the bulbs from curtis, not sure what it is. The bulbs we replaced were the H4.

Also my buddy has an 06 mastiff. He put the led in it and it works fine. He suggested the controller may be switching it to high because it does not see it drawing enough voltage??

That is exactly what happened to Blacktopper. He got a stronger led light from Curtis and it worked fine. His bike didn’t recognize the low pull of the first led light, and the system defaults to hi beam if there is no low beam. Safety feature.
FWIW—I also have a 2010 Bagger, and I just installed one of those $50 Sunpie Day makers from fleabay. I love that thing.

I just told ronnie that you had a bagger but didnt know if it had the new bulb priblem. Looks like curtis will have to exchange bulbs for them.

That thing survived the accident somehow! It is literally still whole and not broken even the entire headlight bucket broke off. I assumed it wouldn't work, but was proven wrong.

Seems I found a good one..lol

Hey guys I’m needing a beauty ring for my Ridgeback. Also I’d like to get the lense and led for mine as well. Can someone point me in the right direction ?

My buddy and I bought the LED replacement bulbs from wild steed worx to replace the h4 and it is switching to high beam automatically. We understand others have had this problem as the ehc does not recognize the low beam being on due to the low voltage draw and as someone else said as a safety feature it changes to high beam. We are waiting for Curtis to respond about this. The sunpie daymaker is on ebay and u can get it with a remote to change color of halo but dont know much about them.

This is the one most have been buying. I personally can't confirm it works with the stock EHC as I don't have EHC's in either bikes anymore, but nobody has mentioned any issues.

Rodger I do believe have it working on his bike with the stock 2008 EHC.

Actually that Sunpie Daymaker is on my Bulldog Bagger, Eric. And it worked fine with the OEM EHC until I changed to D O C's a week or so ago. So far so good, but I really haven't had it out because of the weather. I really tested all the electronics many times following that install, and am very confident all is good.
I took your advice in getting it, and think I will never buy another type of headlight. It looks good, and if Blacktopper leads, it might sunburn the back of his neck.

PM me -- I've got the later version that should be good and can get it to you easily. - Awendaw is just down the road from me.
I just switched from the LED replacement bulb to a Day Maker clone and I do prefer the light pattern it produces.
