I needed my forks serviced and did'nt feel confident enough to do it so i took it to a local shop. When i brought it home and looked it over i noticed a gap at the bottom of the right fork near the axle.Is there supposed to be this gap here? I figured if you tightened it down any more it would crack end cap! Just nervous never noticed this before and wanted to make sure this was right. I also noticed the clip for the clutch cable was broke off at tree i guess its ok to leave it but mechanic should have showed me this instead of leaving it there, he took it for a test drive and adjusted the clutch when he got back.I dont think i'll be going back to this shop again, service and customer care sucked wish we still had Bigdog dealer still around upstate NY! Thanks Joe.....

I cant get pics up,but gap is between bottom of fork tube and pointed end cap. Also one side is flush with fork tube and other side has the gap. I know its hard to understand without pics i cant get them up ill try later.

The "gap" you're speaking of is the pinch bolt gap. There are two allen bolts that screw up from the bottom of the fork just below the axle that "pinch" the axle, like set screws. They keep the axle from sliding out in the event the axle nut backs out or falls out. These bolts do not have to be real tight and there will always be a slight gap at this point.
