Thanks in advance for the help, I got caught in the rain for about 6 hrs the 1st of Oct going to BW in Myrtle. bike dried out ok I guess, road home and no elect problems. I cleand the dog up and put the tender on it. Fast Fwd 3 weeks. Rolled it out turned key on got no lights in the speed-o but did get my needle sweep. I hit the FI button, it cycled still no lights. It started up with no problem, so I took her out with the concern I was just staying around the house 50 mile circle. after about 30 min easy putting with no tach, some little pocket bike went by me about 80 oi 90 shaking his head Something in me just grabbed 4th and then 5th when I hit the rev limiter. Guess what the speed-o just lit up like a Christmas Tree. and no problems the rest of the ride all normal Nutral and oil lights all looks good just wondering if that is a sign to start saving for a Wire Plus Mod (maybe Santa) lol.. Oh yea I about blew that little guy off the road.:flag:

You probably still had some water somewhere and it finally dried out. If you haven't already put some dielectric grease in all your connectors especially at the ehc. Big Dog is coming out with a new version of their ehc, may be a better choice and easier to install. I'm going to the wire plus this winter. I bought this before the bd announcement.

Just remember that no matter what you use, they all have connections and more than likely the same type as you have originally from BDM.

You need to go through all the connections with a good eye and check for FULL pin engagement, cleanliness, lubed/sealed with dielectric grease and properly connected. All this to do under the tank, at the EHC, under the side covers and under the engine harness.

When this is completed, your chances of problems will be greatly reduced or elliminated.

I heard it's less than wires plus. Plug and play without changing ignition switch too. A lot of folks have been waiting a while for it. Good ole' Wires Plus has always worked in the event one can't wait...

Along the same lines............

Has anyone ever experienced "ghost" starts after washing their BDs? Just turning the key switch and "ruh ruh ruh"?

Yea I was hoping for something from BD also but couldn't wait any longer. I started to get some strange things happening back during the summer, so I pulled the trigger on the Wire Plus.
