Respect ???? C'mon, man. Many HD parts made "overseas".I disagree! My 15 yr old Harley looks brand new! Been to sturgis many times and Daytona! Remember that Harley was there first-have some respect!!!!!

OK , Now I am bragging...last 500 miles have been error free.WOW, I was frustrated because I have to disassemble the rear caliper to get it off the rotor...to shim the rear pulley to keep from rubbing the belt, that aint user friendly.
Didn't know that you guy's would protect the bike like a ugly sister..
answer to some of the questions.
No, it was not maintained well.
I changed the oil ( it was all in the sump)
Ricky Farmer set up my 03 Fatboy when it was new.(Shreveport)
Neighbors 05 BD chopper is the one with electrical gremlins.
My 36 year old Honda, and my 23 year old Harley are in good shape. (I keep them that way, just as I will this Bigdog )

I am almost afraid to post , for getting slammed by "carlos" from south Texas
Carlos, fyi..I did find that if I pull the pads out of the rear caliper , I can get the caliper off without having to leave it on the rear wheel. "close , but will come off .
All in all , I now have a pretty good ride , get about 40 mpg,,
actually will pull my 103 cammed ,thunderheader Fatboy..not much , but it will.
I have added a "springer seat", run 25 in the rear tire ...good ride for a hardtail
ran 200 miles yesterday to bury a Sailor, RIP..
got a lot of oohs, and awes at the Patriot Guard misson .
