I called Tim first thing this morning to spread the news, so i guess im one of the sources that Tim doesnt trust 100% (shame on you, im ALWAYS right!). Sheldon called RF this morning and said, "It's offical, Rick, we are 'insolvent'."

What a sad, sad day. However, they are going to try to open "BDM Preformance Products" and still supply parts. Matt Moore and John Nasi are going to be running it.

PS: sorry about your manufactures warranty...

If they are contacting their vendors like the article said, Strokers should know the truth by now. Maybe Lena will post some thing.

Lena just wondering if S&S and Baker are the kind of people that would stand behind the warranty for their respective parts regardless. Any idea?

Well I for one am a realistic person....well I would like to think......And I seen this one coming for quite some time...After owning my bike since 2007 my warranty program is dealt with inside this website....The percentage of competent guys able to truelly repair our bikes even under warranty from their dealerships was slim but none, yet continually and ongoingly this site has had the information and help to allow anyone regardless of knowledge or mechanical ability to fix the problems that seem to allways plague our bikes...Of course I am sad to see the company go under, but I dont think that puts any fear into my world because I own a BDM........

It seems thats that is the problem... Too many 09 and 10 bikes still on the dealers floor. They are trying to increase the used and old new bike prices... Says my dealer.....

Just got off the phone with BDM....They said they are not going out of business and is upset about the negative statements...I'm confused...
This is false. I have been informed some employees weren't told. That is why they didn't know. Sad for an owner to disrespect his/her employees in such a way.

Damm I guess those extra parts I had from putting in the Karata Belt I should save now in case I need them.

They won't have them for long. The bank now owns them and will collect them soon, at that point they will go to an auction house.
The banks don't want motorcycles, they want their money. hate to hear the bad news, but sounds like the time to pick up a bike on the cheap.

Wow, if Lena says Rick was contacted by the owner, then it must be true...Yes, it's very sad...I'm sure glad I got them to fix my bike back in Jan. The place looked like all the employees just vanished...I seen parts still in vices and laying on the tables just like they left them...Shane and Will was the only Mechs left and a painter...Bob looked depressed in Feb as well...

I'm pissed, cause I wanted some day to own a dealership!

It sucks it has come to this, but the worst part is the the proprietary parts that people will need. I know there are not that many but hopefully someone will take over the parts manufacturing for BDM.

It has been hard enough trying to find aftermarket exhaust, now I'm worried about simply replacing the stock stuff. Hopefully they will be able to focus on the parts/logistics side of business until they things rebound.
