Friend of mine has an AIH and he is trying to get a tank for his bike because the liner all broke loose in his. He is told that it will take up to 8 weeks to get a RAW UNPAINTED Texas Chopper tank. Local dealer told him that AIH is pretty much completely folded up now.

Def no replacment for the Dog:2thumbs:

Cant address AIH as I have no experience. I have 08 K9 and 2500 miles, no issues. Mad dog customs in Palm springs CA has 08 K9 for 22K new. also have many 07 new. That is where I got mine, good prices, good company

The BBC line is what made me lose interest in the AIH Slammer and I thought it was neat that they are made right on Big Bear Lake where I have a timeshare. They are outstanding looking bikes with a lot of extra style designs you don't see in others, especially the tins. I spent a few months trying to decide which BBC I was going to get but when it came down to it they just didn't make one with the X-Wedge option that I was in love with enough to spend all the extra money in addition to how much extra they charge for all the chrome options. So I just kept finding excuses not to pull the trigger and after rediscovering Big Dog and the X-Wedge equipped Wolf I started leaning that direction.

The topper was finding out about the way Kevin and Mona at Big Bear handled their frame fiasco. They are solid bikes, don't get me wrong. When I read up on them versus BDM they seem to have LESS problems but that one issue was so huge and so mishandled that I lost all faith and trust in BBC and even though a new 08 or 09 wouldn't have been affected I just didn't want to buy their product.

I've always liked the look but they never seem to fit me decent. That seat design kind of sucks IMO.

Another round please
BDM has much better backing IMO. BBC is a much smaller operation and can fail much quicker. BDM all the way. I have always hated the long skinny tank of AIH and the dorky speedo.

That's true, they are smaller but they've also seen much greater growth then BDM in recent years. With the frame fiasco and the financial situation the way it is they have done REMARKABLY well and at times grown when so many others folded. That's impressive.

People always talk about the long skinny AIH tanks but you guys realize that's only on certain models like the TX Chop right? The Slammer had one of the widest flatest tanks of anybody. It was like the BBC Athena before the 09 model.
