I test rode my bike before I bought it last June and it ran fine then when I went to pick it up it wouldn't start , checked and had power at the coil but the LED on the ignition module didn't light up or flash while cranking so I went home and got my trailer then when I got back tried again and it started.
The battery was junk and the starter was weak so thought voltage was dropping too much to fire the ignition and replaced the battery, starter and new heavy duty cables and everything has worked great till last Thursday when I rode it to town to a meeting. It started and ran fine then when I went to leave four hours later I started it up and let it warm up, as soon as I bumped the throttle the engine died and wouldn't restart, the ignition module LED again didn't light up or flash
checked all connections and still no start. About a minute later without touching any thing else hit the starter the module flashed and the bike started right up.
I had put over 500 trouble free miles on it before it happened and it's working fine now so is impossible to verify problem right now but don't want to be left stranded somewhere. After studying the schematics it looks like if it has battery voltage to the coil and the module doesn't light up it must be either the module or cam sensor beginning to fail and I am leaning towards sensor.
There is allot of experience out there that I respect and would appreciate your input.

almost forgot to mention it is a 2002 Mastiff all original and about 7700 miles
