Does this help?...One of my biggest worries is sourcing connector A.
What does the serial port have to do with anything? It didn't cause the failure. I would still like to get my hands on a couple of defective EHC's, I still want to see if failue is processor or other parts. Solid state is still more reliable and can be made smaller. One of my biggest worries is sourcing connector A.
As far as thunderheart as a replacement if you lose features then it's not an adequate replacement.
I think Wire-Plus is the best option at the moment:2thumbs: but wished it monitored the oil pressure switch so it would shut down engine if there was a loss of oil pressure, or even monitor the neutral switch so if bike was in gear it wouldn't engage starter.
I'm not saying I can make a replacement by myself but I could get pretty damn close and with help you just never know.
Yes the serial port was tons of problems with water ingestion and shorting the EHC! Why you think the recall back in 2005 for Packing it full of Dielectric grease? Most problems with things not working was corroded pins in that plug.
Oh and just for info... Bobby Schulz that posted this thread, did buy a Wire-Plus after the few members recommended it. :2thumbs:
That's too bad. I guess he didn't really have the commitment necessary to give it a shot... :down:Oh and just for info... Bobby Schulz that posted this thread, did buy a Wire-Plus after the few members recommended it.
Im still going to give it a shot and I would like to find a way to make a true plug and play unit. Im going to see what makes the wire plus work as well as what I can use on the factory harness. I hope to come up with something in a month or two. I will keep you guys posted as I progress.
