intake manifold

I'm writing to see if any one can help I'm going to buy a triple X, G carb for my 05 chopper it has a E on it now.What I need to know is do I have to
buy a special intake from Big Dog because of the heads on a 05, or
can I get the same intake as the rest of the 117.

I think Alhall and I'm sure Sul have been through this. I can't remember what is what on each year for this. I know that there is a different intake for some dogs compared to the S&S standard

Yes, you are going to need the larger bore size manifold for the G carb. Triple X will probably be able to get it for you or you can check with Vicky or Nelson.

Like ray said you will need to replace your manifold. From what I was told the o6 and o5 manifolds were different and starting in 07 the manifolds were the stock S&S ones like in o4 and previous. So the question should be will the 06 or the 07 be the replacement manifold for an 05 with the restrictor plates removed? I know sul has an 05 and he probably has a number. But this has been done a bunch a times so I'm sure vickie will know or just call any dealer as I'm sure they have done this mod as well.

06 or later will work. trash the restrictor plates
