Insurance Appraisal

Can anyone tell me if there is someone that can do an appraisal for my friend for his insurance company it is a 2007 K9 Custom color change flame paint job aftermarket controls 1800 miles, chrome kit, sissy bar, stash tube. Or where I can go to get book price and add the extra's to it ? thanks

My insurance company (Geico) didn't even ask price. I just gave the VIN and that was that.

Allied, I looked up book price and as you know the market is terrible, and he probably paid to much but she is perfect hardly ridden. all the extras and low miles I think it should insure for around $22k any ideas what I can do ?

Make sure you "Full Replacement Value" on the policy. You can usually put "riders" on policies for accessories, but it will cost you a pretty penny to do so. In most cases...they'll give you just enough to replace the bike (stock), not the paint, exhaust, pegs, etc.

I use Allstate and they required an appraisal for my 2004 Chopper. I didn't need one for my Raider or Chieftain.

I use Progressive, and as long as we keep the money coming, they ask no questions. Full coverage and never even asked how much I paid...guess six years of loyalty has some value.

I go with Dairy Land and they just insure for full value. Not sure you'll ever get $22 just based on book values. I keep about $6-10k in extras though, you can come up with that pretty quick. Hopefully I'll get that back If needed

I had one appraisal done and they didn't put down any additional items on the list and just put $17,999, I am trying to get information for my friend that is fair to him and the replacement cost to the Insurance company, any ideas ? He just bought the bike and also has an 03 Chopper,

That's as fair as can be I think. Look at Dream Machines website Probably the largest used dealer in Big Dogs in the country there is one in Austin and Dallas not many dogs if any fetching 18k anymore.

Also the extras are an add on insurance will never cover that without you paying up. Although some do cover a minimum $3k in add ons in the standard policy otherwise pay more. So if he adds another 6k in add ons he is sitting at 24k which will more than cover a replacement

I originally had ANPAC, but it took them too long just to get back to me with a quote for my Big Dog. In the few years with ANPAC, Allstate, with whom I have other insurance, entered the motorcycle insurance business with very competitive rates. I didn't need it for my Big Dog, but I put about $6k in upgrades into my Raider and Allstate allows "upgrade" insurance for a minimal amount per $1000 of upgrades you need to cover chrome, paint, etc.
