Just an FYI. I am very pleased with my new starter. . 2004 Mastiff. The starter clutch was bad on my old starter so I bought a new 2.0 kw starter on ebay from Shovelhead kicker / Big Dog Parts King. Man this thing is good, spins and starts my bike quickly ....Incidentally I have a newer Yuasa GHZ20hL 310cca and I can start my bike numerous times in a row without drawing down the battery. (107 S&S, with compression releases.)
While replacing the starter I removed the inner primary to replace the seals and found that my inner primary bearing race had walked in towards the pulley. This will eventually take out a seal on the main drive gear so this needed attention. After the race walks in you cannot remove it with the standard puller. I used a special tool to remove the race and replaced it with the S&S race with the shoulder that prevents the race from walking in. It's all back together now and I'm ready to ride.
