Thx!When you get one from Curtis it will include a square gasket that has different torque values (which Curtis will include in the package) than the standard one the manual has torque specs for. If you get it wrong you can break off the corners of the inspection cover.
Yes. Two voicemails and one textDid you leave Donna a message she is awesome about returning calls and text
Yup with the billet cover and steel screws, the weak link is the threads nowMine cracked on two corners due to me overtightening it like a dumbass! Bought the billet cover from Curtis and used silicone on it and the "proper" torque and have had no issues since, but if i did overtighten it now I am sure the threads will strip out or the bolt will snap before anything happens to the billet cover.
The point is the gasket Wildsteedworx delivers is thicker and has specifically lower torque specs. Also I like the one WSX sells better than the OEM ones. This is also the case for the primary cover rubber gasket. It is square and thicker and has lower torque requirement. It will also outlast the OEM round rubber gasket.I've always used the torque specs and the proper sequence when tightening the screws with a small bead of silicon and never had a leak in 11 years.
I've bought that one from Andrew Barnes 5-6 years ago for my Primary cover and always used the torque specs on the primary cover also, again using the specified sequence when tightening them without leaks. The point is the gasket Wildsteedworx delivers is thicker and has specifically lower torque specs. Also I like the one WSX sells better than the OEM ones. This is also the case for the primary cover rubber gasket. It is square and thicker and has lower torque requirement. In the second instance I was referring to the primary rubber gasket not the flat inspection cover fiber gasket. Not all the inspection covers will accept o rings my pitbull did I used the squared ones with great success but my K9 uses the flat gasket i put bead of rtv around the inspection hole applied gasket and torqued in even intervals and stopped at 85 and no troubles
Yup. I've had my primary cover off and on about 4-5 times and used the same gasket over without leaks, ya just need to make sure everything is clean before putting it back together. I remove my primary cover every 2 years so I can accurately check the chain tension.Oh my bad never heard the primary gasket having issues in fact I've heard people used the original more than once I was thinking of the inspection plate
Thx! I got a hold of her today and got the order in !!Here is the listing from Donna
