Mine bit me in the ass at the worst time. I say ditch the bitch.
Only took about 7 hours or so to install including beer breaks.

We changed my ehc out last April at Gas Man's...I had about 6900 miles on my upgraded ehc(had my original ehc replaced under warranty back in 07)
I decided to change my ehc out to the Wire-Plus...just for peace of mind...have not had any problems with my second ehc...
So glad I went with the Wire-Plus!!...its a great feeling not having to worry about the ehc going out:2thumbs: bike runs awesome!! I can also start bike bike without my headlight on...and I also put in the 8000k HID too!
That would be up to you...I did mine for peace of mind...to each their own

I bought WP via a group buy and it sits in a spare parts box. I did it so that if my original EHC failed, I could replace it pretty quick. So far, my EHC is too scared to fail me such that I have to replace it.

I never had a problem but like Chopper Dave I switched to the Wire Plus for peace of mind :choppersmiley:

The fact that BDM came out with their own kit to eliminate the ehc should tell you to change it out.
I haven't had any signs of trouble with mine but I bought the wires plus kit. It's sitting on my bench waiting for me to have time to put it in.

well piece of mind is alot more valuable then a couple extra dollars floating around, looks like ill be investing in the wires plus, be nice to come home from afghanistan to a worry free or almost worry free machine! thx everybody

I would go about it like Nuke did if I were really concerned. If your concerned do it. Just cause Jake pulled his sponsorship doesn't mean he's outta business. Everyone seems to think he quit all together. He stil has everything he had before. And if he did quit selling the wp. There are other outlets for that too. Hell I got my dyna beads from the people that make them.
