Welcome to the site. I would first contact the Big Dog Company and see if they have and restrictions from Spain. Then if not and your sure you can get it registered or licensed in your country then shop away. Great time to be buying now. We have several for sale in the "Swap Meet" section here.
We have members on this site from Belgium, Great Britain, Latvia, Canada and New Zealand that all have Big Dogs.

Soy Belga y vivo en Bruselas, pero estuve viviendo once anos en Espana y conozco bastante bien la problematica de la importacion...
As far as I know there is only two european countries that will import Big Dogs easily: Poland and Lithuania.
In other countries you will need to do an individual type approval which is a long and costly process, you need to have the tach, headlamp, rear indicators and exhaust changed, plus you need the plate mounting to be placed on the rear fender, and then there is the gamble of managing to have your engine running lean enough for the emissions test, all pretty difficult...
I suggest you get in touch with someone that will do the importation for you in Poland or Lithuania and then, once you have the european papers it's pretty easy to have it registered in Spain.

I imported my Big Dog last year from Florida into the UK and had it registered by a very serious and efficient custom bikes operation in the South of England. They fitted it with all the test-friendly bits and then put it back to exactly how it was when it arrived to their workshop (exception being amber indicators instead or red and EU friendly tail light).
I have also sent my Fat Boy down to Spain - it had UK registration and I had it registered in Spain by Hot Dreams in Marbella. Exactly the same process, fit a few bits, take it to the ITV station and back.
Speaking to Ferry Clot at Hot Dreams, his advice was to have the Big Dog registered in England because its a much easier process and then have it re-registered in Spain if I decide to ship it down.

This custom shop I'm talking about also has a 2007 brand new American Ironhorse Texas Chopper for sale at a very attractive price and you'd have it fully UK registered, etc. Which given the strength of the dollar might work out better than buying in the US, shipping, paying customs and VAT, ITV test registration, etc.

Just went through this mess recently in the UK this is what I had to do :
-Add yellow signals at the back
-Stuck a reflector on the rear fender
-Fabricated a second licence plate holder on the other side
-added a second white light in the middle in front
-Replaced the mirrors with ones that have an "E" mark on them
-Took off my Arlene Ness Tubes and put the BDM original
-Placed a rubber tube over my wind sheald
-Rounded my handle bar pegs and brake & Shifter pegs with plastic plugs having "3mm radius edges"
-Installed an Imobilizer module onto my Scorpion (had to have either a mechanical and or electrical theft device, you can just wrap a chain lock under the seat the day of the test)
Took all the above off the bike after registering it but I am still looking for a permenant fix to the yellow indicators at the back....

areyes - did you use Battistini's?
Lebo - you might struggle with the indicators as long as you have an EHC. I've got the correct indicators now but only able to do it because I got rid of the EHC.
Altea - if its anything like it is in the UK, which is absolutely ridiculous, your best bet is to simply find someone who can take care of it for you and leave it to them. Ship it to them direct and pick it up when it is all done. Good luck.

To keep the EHC I will have to tap into the front signal lines and wire them back to the rear fender.
Another Idea I am toying around with is to modify an LED board to flash the outer LEDs yellow and inner break and back lights (still researching...)
Or Install a set of front indicators below the back indicators(attached at the same point on the fender)
